Here's hoping you have had great summers. Ellis, Scottie and I have enjoyed ours immensely. Every day is different and has its challenges, but is also unfailingly full of that joy that babies bring with their entirely authentic presence. Though we've missed you and our shala community, we've been relishing our home practices, especially with Ellis' participation.
I wish there was a magical way to return to daily morning Mysore teaching AND be with Ellis AND get my own practice in all at the same time, but unfortunately I do believe that would involve having multiple bodies (which Amazon prime might supply us with soon but is as of yet not an option).
Instead, I am hoping to return to teaching slowly and see where that takes me. And so, beginning Sunday, September 16, I am happy to announce that I will be offering a Sunday morning Mysore class from 10:15 am - 12:15 pm in Studio C at the BYC (The Berkeley Yoga Center at 2121 Bonar St.). I envision this class as a weekly complement to your own regular practices, in which you and I can check in, fine-tune the patterns you are working on and frequent together whatever edge you are moving towards. As always, all practitioners are welcome, regardless of experience.
The class will be offered in 4 week sessions for 65$/ every session. The first session will be Sundays September 16, 23, 30 and October 7. Email me to sign up! Because I am hoping to build a critical mass of regular weekly students and I also recognize that my time is less flexible and more valuable than it was before, once I have a minimum of 10 students sign up/ session, I'll let you all know we're on. To that end, please forward or pass the word to anyone you think might be interested. You can pay by cash or check at the first class. I hope this will work out for you all and that we are soon back on the mat together!
